What's your monthly gaming budget?

Do you buy a couple a month, on average?

I pay £10 a month for Eve and £10 a month to rent console games, most of which are for the Mrs. (Swapgame subscription)

Back when I was regularly playing old Xbox games, I was buying 2 games a month, spending about £50.

These days, I spend a lot more time gaming, and spend a hell of a lot less.

That's the attraction. I play the games I enjoy (Eve really floats pretty much all the boats on my gaming wishlist but the odd console rental comes that distracts me for a day or 2 - like NFS:Carbon). It costs me very little.

It should be worth noting that Eve's subscription can be paid for with ingame money. So provided I make enough (about 20 hours farming a month), I can play for free.

EDIT: Guild Wars? Played it during beta. Not impressed. Bog standard High Fantasy MMO. I've more than done that genre to death and the thought of doing it anytime soon, even for free makes me feel all sleepy.

To be quite honest if I was ever going to get back into MMORPG I'd be going to Guild Wars as I did enjoy it when I played it.

I am not too bothered about subbed games either if I like the game I'd pay.

The thought of farming, grinding etc just puts me right off - did that for over 18 months with World of Warcraft - no thanks.

Enjoyable as it was, it became like a second job - especially when it came to organising raids etc - nope, not for me - not anymore.

Yeah, that's the advantage of Eve's time-based skill training.

If you're going away on holiday, just stick on a high level skill to train.

It'll be done when you get back
