Warioware:Smooth Moves! A mate of mine was over one night and 4 of us were playing and he described it as the best thing ever. Not best [i]game[i] mind you, but best thing. Then we laughed so hard he almost pissed himself.

Sounds like I am the only one who bought this for myself, no kids involved!

Its a great game, one of the the few multiplayer games as good as Wii sports. Along with the four 100m relay swimming, the running dream event is a killer

Yup, I gave this to my daughter

Not sure how much she likes it, but I'm having a right laugh playing with my boy!

I think four up, this could be a real winner. There are a couple of duds - fencing is poor, I think - but overall there's a lot of fun to be had.

As you say, though, Flan, it's a proper workout for the arms. Four by four 100m relay swimming anyone?

my 8yr old lad got Mario/Sonic olympics for crimbo, and my arms are fookin killing me! it's great fun, and if we ever get to a LAN with four controllers were in for some top laughs. it's a great game, and very addictive trying to beat your best times, highly reccomended...

Recently got Mario and Sonic Olympics and Rayman Raving Rabbits II.

Mario and Sonic is great fun, there are a couple of weak events (Shooting, Fencing) and you hav to play through single player to open all the events, but for multiplayer fun, its probably my best Wii game.

Little dissappointed with Rayman Raving Rabbits II, some of the mini games are brilliant and really funny, but there are too many weak/simple ones. My wife really likes it though so I suppose thats all that counts I have heard the first one is better, anyone played both?

Getting Mario Galaxy, how could I resist the game that is ranked 2nd best of all time accross all consoles (http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/simpleratings.asp)

To be honest, I'd rather keep my resonably priced Blue-ray & Game machine. Stand Alone Blu Ray players are about the same price, without the added bonus of having a built in games machine/internet browser.

The Wii is not for myself.

nothing better than the wii for drunken family/friends fun.... especially now with raving rabbids 2 & olympics.... (mario party 8 at a push...) roll on xmas.....

Thats balls'ed it then. None in stock at all now. + with all the added hidden costs ( Nunchuck and wii-mote £45!!!! I am glad they are out of stock. After initial thoughts of a cheap console for abit of family fun, turns into a licence for nintendo to print there own money.

And im not fussed about the console personally. Misses wanted one.

Think well have to have a Wee contest this xmas instead of the planned Wii one .

the SD card is only for saving photo's etc to view on your Wii, the internal memory is ample for game saves. you do need a gamecube memory card to save any of those games, and controllers...

My misses wants a Nintendo Wii for Xmas, but we havent been able to find any in stock anywhere ( Must be looking in the wrong places ? ).

Where'd you get yours from FEZZA?

I think it would be excellent drunken fun to play over the xmas period with family and friends .

As for the rest of the kit needed. I still have a gamecube memory card and a couple of controllers round here somewhere. Or does it have to be a SD card?.

i paid £25 for it so im happy another price error got 2 in one day raymen rabbids 2 as well £24 on gameplay mind you it was soon rectived but at least they gave it to me at the prices

Hmm tempted buy it even though its got some mixed reviews i used to like the old Track and field type games and thought Wii sports was fun in short sessions ....Hmm i may be buying this or try hang on for a possible price drop.

well been playing all afternoon on this and its good little game , thier are some great events and some not so good the only neg ill give it is that some of the events you have to unplug the nunchuck which is only a minor gripe

so far love archery ,skeet trampolene hammer throw and spear chucking so another thumbs up from me

Yup, I'm with you on that. Just read a preview for Sonic + Mario Olympics and I can see much fun over Christmas with it.

Just have to hope it doesn't give me or my dad a heart attack. I can see it getting a bit competitive, and it looks quite physical

You cannot beat the Wii when there are a few people (non gamers) around - especially Wii sports. SSX is also good, but a little bit "Tricky" () to get used to.

yesterday afternoon me and the wife put it on for quick game of bowling and 3hrs later no tea and forgot to pick lad up from work , so it is just a gamecube with diff control method but ill tell you it also brings a smile to your face when your wife blitzs your proud top score and does the most stupid dance david brent would have been proud of

also look at the vids for mario galaxy and then my fav game mario and sonic olympics now tell me thats not going to be fun with a few vodkas

Tricky one this,played my mates one the other day had a great deal of fun but its like playing a old console with just the added controls that make it unusual and differant.

yea the 10 pin bowling and overness of the wii wears off after a while but there is some dam fine games out for it and more coming.....

plus the Neo Geo is due on VC soon (Jap this month) so many fatal fury/king of fighters etc.... what more

plus not forgetting you also get a Game Cube and all those great games..... (after you've forked out for the memory card and joypads ) lol

the graphics might not be 360/ps3 standard but for me its got ALOT going for it, just for the retro stuff

oh well it didnt last just got myself one but bloody hell didnt realise that you have to buy this and that just to get on the net with it and to play diff vc games crikes.

loving it tho i know the novelty will wear off but i dont play much any way so it will take its time to wear off.

snes games forgot about them which mario kart can you d/l is n64 or the snes.
me and my lad when he was tiny used to play cant remember snes or n64 summit corps and pilot wings i think bloody ace games they were.

i have quite a few of the N64 VC's and all worth it imho
plus a few SNES classics...

super swing golf is good fun ... plus mario strikers is a good laff...

really looking forward to mario galaxy though....

I got a few games with my Wii, SSX Blur, Trauma Centre, Wario ware, Wii play. So far I have only played Wii sports which is really fun, but I was too tired after that to play anything else

Really looking forward to Wii Music (I think you are a conductor of an orchestra) and the Mario/Sonic Olympic game (like track and field but with the Wii remote).

Would really like Zelda and RES Evil 4, but I only want to get games for the Wii that family/friends can play. Must be strong...

Thats the thing though, if im not part of their target audience, why release Godfather, Red Steel, any Resident Evil game, Manhunt 2, Scarface?

Surely they would just keep to their major audience and know that people such as myself wont be interested enough in the console to warrent getting the games?

Is Res 5 even coming out for it or are Capcom releasing some rehash of one of the older titles?

Edit: just asked my Ninty fanyboy mate and apparently Wii owners WILL have the pleasure of buying Res 4, the PS2 version, with some wavey magic stick controls.

...how some comapnies get away with this ill never know...

The problem is you're not really the right person to answer the question though MG. Not saying you're not entitled to an opinion, which of course you are, but the Wii wasn't really aimed at young single adults who generally just want to kill/destroy things. You're not really in the demographic the adverts or console are aiming at so it's not really suprising you're complaining about the adverts and there's nothing on the console that really interests you.

For good family fun the Wii is great, for some serious gaming it's the 360 all the way. You won't find my family crowding round the console to have a good family game of GRAW2, my missus has absolutely no interest in the 360. The Wii is a completely different story though.

Anyway back on topic, adding to what r0wie said, Rayman went down well in this household too.

Ok then, heres my actual opinion

Wiis are fun for a couple of days, as a throwaway thing. There are no really good games, the consoles first game for mature gamers, Red Steel, is a pain to play, isnt that good and although graphics arent the be all and end all, its hard to justify paying the price of a Wii to play a Gamecube FPS with a DVD remote.

The fact that the adverts for it show very little of any actual games and more the people (usually women and older people, not your typical 'gamer' demographic) playing it with hollywood smiles on their faces is also a bit concerning.
Look at the adverts for 360 games - lots of in game footage, lots of action and gives you an idea of "that will be cool to play" rather than the Wiis "this is how much fun you will have playing Tennis! LOL!"...which is true, but after a day or two of playing it, then its a bit rubbish.

The same can also be said about Golf, which is now pretty much being rereleased for fullprice with Tiger Woods face on the box.

Well done to nintendo for doing something different, but they made the control system TOO different to be any good with....well, any game thats worth playing for more than a week, add into that the frustratingly bad online system and the rigma role it takes to get friends on it to avoid kids having peadophiles talk to them (probably)..yet youre freely available to go onto the internet and look at hardcore porn, I know, Ive done it on me mates Wii, is frankly shocking.

So, are there any games worth buying for the Wii?

I do like this forum but the amount of people that insist on contributing nothing to certain sub-forums bcos its not xbox releated is getting quite old....

Hopefully my Wii should arrive on Tues! (So wait till then to flame me pls)

but yes game wise it is limited but....
Zelda - SSX - Monkey Ball - DragonballZ (if you like that sorta thing which i do) excite truck is ok if rather short - Wii Play for a cheap throw away party type game that comes with an xtra controller...
plenty on the horizon tho, RE4 - REUC - Mario Strikers - Mario Galaxy - Manhunt2 - Mario Party

Plus all the great VC games (mario world - mario64 - sonic)
plus all the gamecube games...

You have plenty of choice....

Yes i luurrrvvveee my 360.... but for some no brainer fun with the family nintendo always wins....
