Hey Azz

I thought I was the only 'Old Fart' out there!! I have just turned 50 mate and I have been playing games for as long as I can remember. It is fantastic escapism from the daily drudge of work. I like to think I am young at heart and pretty cool with it?? Most of my gaming has been PC based, but I got an Xbox360 for my birthday and I have been addicted to online gaming since, Halo3 and especially COD4, which I love. I usually just tend to ignore most talkers online as a lot of the younger ones just talk rubbish. I love sitting in my gaming room while my lovely wife Karen tops me up with wine!!

Feel free to send me a friend request, My Xbox gamertag is 'ToxicPond' and I am determined to progress through the COD4 ranks and teach these youngsters a thing or two, Harrumph!!

Hi there, welcome to the community.

If it wasnt for the Myxbox Crowd, I think i'd have given up on XBL along time ago.

As for the Young yanks, I totally agree they are extremely annoying. But they aint the only ones who can be annoying. Some of the UK teenagers can be awful. ( from my own experience ).

i also have had my handfull of american prats.. i have had lots of rainbow six games online as im not to good with gears of war online as i was used to graw games and my first try online was pointless, as i found myself in unfair games all the time..

since ive been playing rainbowsix i have only found a few uk players which have been good allround games where as if your in an american game you findyourself just running around like a headless chicken..

if you are online with graw or rainbow six just add us and we'll have a game,my dads online and my bro is soon to be online to.. now my dads 51 and he's not bad on graw, so dont let the snotty american kids put you off and add us so we can get a uk game together sometime.. KING LEE79

Fantastic, gamers in my age group for a change (I'm 35).

Some peoples attitudes, tbh it's the only thing I hate about xbl and has put me off a lot of games... especially most young Americans. For example in a game of Halo 3 beta the other day I got the piss ripped for not knowing how to play one of the match types. My attitude was "Eh, it's beta I'm looking around and trying the new items and guns, lookin at the graphics and that! Not trying to defeat anybody!" I was soundly hounded out of the match. Bastards!

Your experience on gears of war is exactly what i fear, after watching some clips on youtube. I'm 38.

I get the impression that American kids are all homophobic racists. Now I can add Ageist to the list too.

Hello all.
its so good to see that there is gamers out there that enjoy the fun of playing games.Instead of being abused or swore at for not being good.

This is a classic example that happened the other night to me.

wife was at bingo we werent babysitting the grandkids or anything so i thought great relaxation time.
so of i go to the takeaway got chicken vindaloo (mmm lovely) put 360 on and thought i would try gears of war online.Well ends up in a game with all americans.Couldnt really understand what they were saying in the lobby lots of swearing and shouting.Anyway as the game started they all ran of (But not me) at this point my vindalloo had decided to repeat on me and i had heartburn.
American kid says "hey dude you with us or whats up"
i said "excuse me a minute i have heartburn"
American kid says"you sound like old man how old are you"
I said "45"
American kid says"F**k O** and have a heart attack and die in someone else's game"
I then left the game and decided not to try again.

So just looking for friendly people to have a good relaxing game and good banter with online.
Sorry for the long greeting i tend to waffle on in my old age.
