| Well my 360 started to crash with grphical glitches on sat, while my daughter was playing around with photo mode in pgr3. Then the screen went blank but the xbox was still on working, a reboot sorted that.
Then while my daughter was playing Geometry Wars it crashed with a checkerboard pattern. On reboot a while later three red lights showed. So I removed cables, swore plugged them back in, restarted, swore. Removed the hard disk etc nope nothing would get it going.
Ring up the help line who answered quickly, registered my xbox and then they said ok turn it on again and we will run through some stuff, what do you know the damn thing turned on fine........
It's been ok since then but I feel it's days may be numbered

| Thanks for the advice, I am throwing it out now as it's only showing three red lights.
DHL are picking it up tomorrow. Hopefuly I'll get it back next week some time.

| | After the long wait to get one, I fear mine too could have a problem. Turned it on today to extend live account, it got to Xbox 360 screen and then one red light on front and said error E-16 contact MS. Rebooted and everything fine.....for now. Many other people seeing errors? What did they go through with you on the phone?

| Basicly nothing in the end they said can you turn on your console, I did and it worked, when if failed with three red lights two days later they just sent a return box out.

not looking good :/
Monitor it if you start to get random crashes etc call MS and return, it is fairly painless, and quite quick

| I haven't had any crashing problems with this new one, however the dvd playback is still very hit or miss as it can be very choppy at times.
If you got your console from a shop (especialy Game) try taking it back there for a straight swap as they are in plentiful supply. Game I believe will do this any time in the first 12 months, not sure about other shops.

| I got the three red lights of dooooom too! this was on my second 360, i think its more common in core units. On my third now and everythings sweet, altho i send my first 360 back to microsoft because its kept freezing and they sent me back a worse one. I just brought it back to game. They were very helpful

| went into Game today just to see what the score was and they said they'd just do a swap for a new unit. Fair play to Game is all I can say!
