Had some fun racing last night. Did anyone manage not to crash into another car?

Basically there are some issues with it but it looks great. I think the damage on would cut the demon driving down a little. Maybe not after a few beers though.

Anyone up for some more tonight!!

Have had a quick go at it and extremely impressed so far - looking forward to trying the demo with some of you guys. Two things that I particularly liked were the fact that some random crashes occur with other AI drivers, only ever seen that in earlier TOCA games and just doesn't seem to feature in any other driving games. Secondly, if you haven't tried turning driver aids off, have a go. The handling becomes so responsive but yet remains perfectly controllable unlike many other driving games when you turn them off. Looking forward to the full game

Codemasters has unveiled Race Driver: GRID's multiplayer features and revealed that the game - due out on PS3, 360 and PC on 30th May - features full damage modelling.

GRID features 32 online race events taking in 80 circuits overall, with support for 12 players online and a ranking system that rewards skill and persistence.

Players will be rewarded with points for winning and beating better-ranked opponents, among other things, graduating from Junior Rookie to Legend as they amass points.

Elsewhere, online leaderboards track progress on every track in every car class, and the very best performances are recorded as ghosts, which you can download and race against in Test Drive mode.

But it's the damage that you'll probably notice first, and it's core to what chief game designer Ralph Fulton describes as "incident-packed, aggressive, wheel-to-wheel racing".

"Our wide range of motorsport disciplines, stunning locations and full damage 12-player races make for a uniquely spectacular race experience and our immersive new ranking system rewards player skill and deepens the challenge online," he added.

Sounds like it's single-player only for me then ....

that, unfortunately SK, is par for the course in ANY online racer. obviously the more random the lobby the greater the incidents, it does improve markedly with a full grid of myxboxers but the odd 'misshap' still occurs. don't think that an F1 game will be any different, it will be just the same, it's the nature of the beast...

who says you can't polish a turd...

Oh I won't be bothering with a console F1 game either for my online racing fix .... I know it'll be exactly the same as every other console racing game - ruined by knobbers who just want to win....

I'll be getting GRID though and will be giving it a try online I was picking out that particular phrase - "incident filled".
