Here in the UK we get the worst PSN store, we get everything later and the Americans get more stuff and the Japanese get more stuff then the Americans.

So this is how to access the US/JP stores on your PS3, and dont worry it dosent affect your UK account.

1) Create two new user's on your PS3 through the option on the far left of the XMB.

2) Obtain a USA address and a Japanese address. They are easy to get, try looking on a corprate information page on a large companys website. E.g a rarther large search engine's information page!

3) Now log in on your PS3 with the user who will be your USA store user, and under "Network" in the XMB select "Sign up to Playstation Network".

4) Follow the steps and use the USA address you "obtained" in step 2 to complete the sign up proccess. --- NOTE --- It is a good idea to write down which box wants what information for each of the signing up steps because when you do the JP PSN store all the instructions are in Japanese and you wont know what to write in the boxes.

5) YAY! You should now be able to download from the US PSN store. Sign up to the Japanese store the same way you done the USA one but using the JP address. -- NOTE -- on the Japanese sign up process the address input page is slightly re-agranged compaired to the USA address stage, so you may need to play around a little but its not hard!

Got it from another forum and slightly edited it btw ....saved me typing it all lol i got GT5 demo from Jap store ages ago but might be on Usa now i haven't checked tbh.

I own 2 360s a Ps3 and imo you'd be mad to get rid of 360 for a Ps3 there ok but i only tend to go on my Ps3 if my 360 friendslist was quiet as the online side of Ps3 is poor tbh and i prefer my online games most of the time so id keep the 360 aswell

since i got my new gfx card for pc and cod4 i crnt bring myself to play cod4 on 360 anymore so im thinkin about px the console all games hd player etc and gettin a ps3, Y u might ask well i love F1 games and i dont see 1 commin on 360 also msg and time crisis aswell + fact my m8 who is movin into flat dwon stairs has a 360 so ill alllways have 1 to play on if needed

I got Fifa 08 last weekend for PS3. And even after my intial frustrations with the demo feeling dis-jointed. I 've really got into it. It really does seem to play out like a real game of footy. I've scored some beautiful goals on this version. With my best result about 8-0 so far .

So believe it or not, I really have changed my mind about FIFA 08. Excellent game, glad I brought it. Hopefully some people on my friends list will be up for some online games.

cheers for that lee already picked it up its game off the year on some forums so they must know their quality games ,and your right dont care if the 360 comes back or not as long as ive got the game of the year to play im happy.

I havent really tried the Ps3 online, I know I have a working USB wired headset which seems to work ok. Do you have to push a button on the controller to transmit?.

I know on Cod4 its open comms and cant see likes of fifa being different ...also you can use a bluetooth headset if you dont want the wired type

Will more than likely get Fifa 08 the weekend. Anyone know where I can get it cheap at the moment?

I havent really tried the Ps3 online, I know I have a working USB wired headset which seems to work ok. Do you have to push a button on the controller to transmit?.

Thread hijack but yea pain..... fifa08 kicks pes08 in the nuts and stands laughing at it.... has to be my most played game of late and is very playable online.... even the 5v5 pro mode is awesome and plays well ....

Anyway back on track.... PS3.... nice BR player and good for firmware upgrades for profile2.0 coming soon to get the features HD has had all along..... not that i'm bitter woth WB or anything.....

Hi fezza, whats you're PSN id?. Mine is: MrPa1N. I've been playing the Fifa 08 demo today and started to rather enjoy it. It has to be played very differently to PES 2008, which is probably why I couldnt get my head round it in the first place .

I'm considering getting Fifa 08 as a few of my work friends have it and play it online on the PS3.

i totally agree with your first post rm the ps button they call it is well shite and your right about the updates and after waiting hours to d/l a game it takes ages to install its very poor.
my son has been playing offline fifa all day and its froze on him numerus times.
im still happy i got one because i love f1 and i would have got a ps3 sooner or later.
as for mgs it does look stunning but i thought that about the gt demo but to me forza and pgr and dare i say it sega rally play much better.
got to admit tho another reason had to get it is a little game called ferrari challenge comin in march cant help it im sucker for car games.

must admit im always moaning about the 360 but you dont realise what a good machine it is apart from the fucking three red lights bollox.

Oh I only had this because my friend brought one on friday with Ass's Creed but he could not play it because the ps3 required some sort of update which he could not carry out because he did not have internet access. You'd think they would included any updates on the game disc, a Blu disk should be big enough.

Graphically the creed games looked exactly the same running through my setup but the PS3 version has some serious frame rate issues with the back ground and scenery when you scroll the camera angle around, all the characters are ok but the kingdom becomes extremly choppy, im not sure why this was not picked up on before they ubi released it on the format

I had one for the weekend, a little dissapointed with the machine itself, but it made little or no noise compared to my elite.

I thought the button in the middle of the pad actually did stuff like the guide button but no guide comes up just a few options like shutting down or switching the pad off.

Another thing that got to me was the downloads they seemd to take ages probably network was busy but after you download the demos you wait almost as long for them to install which for some anoying reason could not happen in the background.

The three Metal Gear solid videos looked awesome, so I will get a PS3 when this comes out. thought the joypad was ok but it felt strange because it was very light, maybe the dual shock 3 will have some weight to it.

well played 7 hrs of f1 online last night its weird not talking but im used to that lately on live

as for the pad well in the words of fezza its fucking shite give me the 360 anyday.

played fifa on line as well that was smooth as silk and also gave rom a game as well fuck knows how many peeps playing but it was ok.
as for the ps3 it self it hasnt got nothin on xbox marketplace but its ok .
couldnt give a toss about bc games as havent plugged the ps2 in for ages and plus i bought ps3 for f1 , gt, mgs .
as for the consoles i own now it would have to be in this order xbox, wii, ps3 but must admit loved every hour last night playin f1 going round and round the same track it was petrol head heaven.

The Ps3 pads do have triggers though they look like the Ps2 pad and same looking design the rear triggers are same kind idea like 360 where they have bit movement too them for likes of car games rather than the usual just press and click type button if that makes much sense.

i quite like the idea of buyin a ps3 but not sure on the pad it the sticks are in rong place to play any type of fps game and no triggers like the 360 pad i like the fact that live is free and tbh at the moment if xbl dont get sorted im gonna either buy a new gfx card for pc or px me 360 and buy a ps3 keep the fps for pc and driving etc for console..

Its good to see sony have taken a step backwards to give us the dual shock 3 control pad (their words not mine). Will get one of these next year when Home and Metal Gear come out.

Couldnt agree with you more, think I actually said the same thing in another thread somewhere ( In different words ).

The "Premium Console" may well be a excellent bit of kit. But without "QUALITY GAMES" its pretty much pointless. And by Sony removing some of the features on the console to bring out a base console, doesnt this reduce the appeal of actually owning a PS3?. I'd be really peeved if I didnt have Ps2 backwards compatability. Even thought the GH2 controller still doesnt work .

Buying a PS3 at the moment is comparable to buying a Ferrari with a Austin Metro engine in. It looks the bollocks, but is crap to drive!.

The £299 model is a stripped down version of the PS3. The USB ports have been reduced to two instead of four, and it's no longer backwards compatible with PS2 and PS1 games. This also means that there's no memory card slots either. Finally, the ability to play Super Audio CD's has been removed.

Yes it has everything (including wifi) built in steamboat. Even though Personally I think that Blue ray is over rated, unless you might have a 1080p TV?.

Normal Dvds are upscaled into 1080i on the Ps3 which make them excellent picture quality, which is probably the best quality picture you will see from a SD DVD. I still buy SD DVDs instead of overpriced BR DVD's. And myself personally find it very hard to see the difference between BR and DVD at this output.

And Fezza you would have only brought it for one game, cus there hasnt been anything else really worth buying on it yet. I'm extremely dissapointed with the games line up on Ps3. It pales in comparison to the line up on Xbox 360.

I've played and finished all 3 games I brought on ps3 when it came out. And havent really played on it since . Considered selling it just because I never play anything on it. Only watch films on it .

As its been said earlier for me the ps3 has no games that interest me that can not be got on the 360 apart from Unreal tournment 3 which is out in november and not out till next march on the 360.

As for it been a cheaper way to get a blueray player i can not see the value in it when you can get the HD dvd player for the 360 for about £100 and with the film of the year only been released on HDdvd and not on blueray then its just another reason not to bother with one.

BTW if your wondering what the film of the year is i can give you a clue its not High school musical 2

Saw this on Eurogamer:

Sony has dropped the price of the 60GB PlayStation 3 to GBP 349 and introduced an "entry level" 40GB model to retail at GBP 299, GamesIndustry.biz reports.

The repositioned prices will come into effect on 10th October, with the new 60GB "value pack" including two first-party games for the GBP 349 asking price, along with a single controller.

£300 with a blue ray player sounds good to me. Does it have wi-fi built in?

I agree with paul there is nothing there yet? sure stuff is coming... Is it going to take 2-4 generations of development for the games to actually look as good as the video clips they showed at E3 2 years ago?
