I'd agree the PS3 is a lovely well made bit of kit.

I only have Motorstorm, Resistance, Ridge Racer 7 and Assasins Creed on it.

I dont think the games come close to those on the 360 yet. But as a media Center it is excellent. Upscales your old DVD's ( which in my opinion look amazing ). And the quality of the Blu-Ray isnt to shabby either. And its also nice to surf the net from the comfort of the arm chair. Overall Im fairly pleased with my Ps3.

Theres loads of demos on the PStore to try. And another nice touch is the PS network is completely free.

Also Fezza did you know if you link youre PSP upto the PS3 you can use it as a rear view mirror in the F1 game?.

yea the controllers do feel very weird when you first use them as if there empty its due too the lack of a rumble pack inside ...they are releasing the dual shock 3 that has rumble and more weight which is out in japan now.

I have Resistance, Cod4 ,Motorstorm ,Rachet & clank and Drake fortune also dont forgot games are region free which is one good point i like on the Ps3

well took the plunge and got one fifa ,casino royale and a hdmi for £309 not to bad.
also bought rof £17 (cex) , f1 oh yes £24 and motorstorm £19 so pretty pleased.
only had a quick go controller is fucking shite no weight the console is alovely bit of kit knocks the 360 into fits.

ill be spending a bit more time on it as soon as my son lets me

I found the GT thing, its in full games, GT HD Concept...played the first level type thing and the steering seemed VERY light compared to Forza.

It does look a hell of a lot nicer than forza though...

Just bought myself Marvel Ultimate Alliance, so will probably get on with that later when not talking to the (new) Mrs.

Will also look into buying some stuff sometime, though since my second case of debit card cloning, im in no rush to put my details in on the net..

I think the GT demo is still availiable in the UK PS Store MG?. Have you updated to the lastest firmware yet?. If so make sure you turn SD DVD upscaling on. It does make you're old dvds look aload sharper .

Ridge Racer 7: isnt to bad when you get abit further into the game and come up against the more challenging oppostion.

Motorstorm: Really enjoyed playing this game in Single Player, havent yet played this online.

Resistance FOM: Not to bad, decent presentation. The online play is very hectic. But it does feel slightly last gen. Not a bad game though.

A good full game on the PS Store was Tekken DR HD. Cracking game for £6.99.

You can create as usa account aswell you know and there store tends to have more stuff on in usually only prob is if you want to buy things on usa store you buy in $ then and need setup a usa address and stuff etc: but for demos and trailers its ok though

If you want to add friends you find it to the far right of the dash and if look at messages you may find friend requests from friends in there.

Yeah, the games were well over £400 new, but they were collecting dust and most of them you can pick up dirt cheap now anyway, got £15 for GOW for instance.....£4 being lowest i think... either way, the grand total for all the kit i got was just shy of £600 worth.
So a bit of a deal really!

Ive kept Forza, Guitar Hero, Vegas (too much time on that one to sell it, best online game ever!) and Darkness. Was thinking of getting it for PS3, but couldnt be arsed starting again.

Review:
First up, the cons:
Joy pad is wank. Its light, which i like, but no vibrate, and its basically same as PS1 pad, though there are triggers now, which are a little stiff, but ill put that down to it being new. 360 pad is obviously far better.
I was also scared that it would break my glass TV stand as it weighs as much as a small car and looks like a george forman grill.
Another thing is the OS...not a fan.

Plus sides:
my 360 set up for same thing is a mess of cables, for same spec as ps3. Ps3....2 cables. HDMI and power chord. Lovely stuff.
Another little thing I like is the inclusion of a USB cable for charging the controler, little things like that are good...had to spend more money to get the 360 to that stage...
Simple OS, clean..but just missing that charm of the Dashboard.
Turning system on and off is nice (dull point, but a point none the less)...comes on really quickly and nice classical music to greet you. With the OS changing colours on time of day and other things...nice touch. Lot quicker than 360, which takes a few seconds from power up though pad to being able to do things, espcecially with custom dash etc.
Signs onto the network a lot quicker than Live as well.

Web browsing is suprisingly good and quick, will need to invest in a keyboard and mouse though i think as the PS store is web browser based, but seems to be fairly short on stuff like demos and things.

Good piece of kit really, some well thought out things, some not so well thought out.

Motorstorm is a proper laugh, great game. Driving around and watching motorbikes try and take a shortcut, failing and crashing into the side of a cliff, then explode.

Ridge Racer 7. Oh dear.
Its alright in short bursts, and its almost impossible to crash the cars. Tap break to put in a slide, get it wrong and youre all over the place, but still dont crash.

Resistance looks stunning. Really, really nice and im sure will be manic online with 39 other people. Not really played too much of it, but its alright enough.

Is the GT HD demo still available does anyone know?
And yes, as far as im aware ill be sent a blueray, though wasnt mentioned anywhere....

Another good thing, the store uses ACTUAL money, rather than points to make you wonder how much youre spending.

Have you got rid of you're 360 completely then?, or just a few games?. Whilst the Ps3 itself is a nice bit of kit. The games just dont measure up to current 360 games. Plus no forza . I mainly use mine to watch DVDs ( Upscaled to 1080i ), and play old ps2 games ( Also Upscaled to 1080i ).
