i agree both with sj and throttle , hardly played wii over xmas at all i think once xmas day but as my poxy xbox has gone back to knackers yard once agian mario has kept me from going stir crazy and just as good as the first time i switched it on each level is different and so bloody clever.
mind you getting a ps3 today so it might have to take a back seat once agian

I do like my 360 but its mostly just Fps or racing games im playing which i do like where as Mario is a very nice looking and fun platformer something that the 360 does not have imo i know on 360 theres the likes of Tomb raider which is puzzle/shooter and Ac etc: but Mario is just a fun old school like platformer which looks very nice designed and just fun.

I've had Mario galaxy since its launch and was actually back to playing it again today months later so id still rate it myself as good game

Fair point. However, sometimes its nice to take a break from endless blood,guts and shrapnel, and play something that is innocently charming, slightly surreal, and most importantly, makes you smile

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say I wasn't blown away. I can see why you'd all like it so much, especially if you have a nostalgic bone in your body. But its all just a bit, dare I say, dull? I bought it for my nephew for xmas so that I could play it first, and after 5-6 hours of play, I didn't mind giving it up to him. Then I got my 360 and played Bioshock. Need I say more?

Horses for courses I guess.

Bit late to get this, but now I have it...

What an absolute joy to play, real smile inducing stuff. Although essentially a platformer, it feels more fresh and vibrant than most of the other "by the numbers" games released these days

This is the Wii's killer game, and it proves that Nintendo still understand the essence of gaming.

Now looking forward to Call of Mario, Rainbow Mario and Gears of Mario

my 8yr old son completed this today, he watched the end sequence with a tear in his eye. but he has a couple other galaxys to complete it fully, if that make sense...

Its grrrrreat maybe a bit easy unlocked the final boss stage after two days. Going to go for max stars before i do finish it though !

It appeared on Saturday and after watching the planets style looking bits and running upside down looking idea's from previews previously i wasn't 100% if id like it but ive thankfully been very pleased with it and think its best platformer i've played in ages

There's also more good points about it being that my 3 year old son (soon to be 4) likes it so i get too play it rather than suffer kids tv channels when hes about previously he liked watching Ratchet and clank yet used to complain at likes of Cod4 or Vegas asking for me to play Gears of war instead !? thankfully the Mario look seems more comfortable for a almost 4 year to watch than shooting monsters heads off or chainsaw them to death ! lol

i feel like im pimping games at the moment with sega rally and mario

go on avforums and look at the reviews the lads on their have gave it , and like i told chas look at the ign or gamespot video reveiws it gives you good insight what your in store for

i know you 2 have nippers so ill give the 2 player mode a bashing after with me being the child and the wife can be the grown up

right im off to defeat bowser once agian

I've never played a Mario game in my life, but it sounds as if this is a good place to start.

Still might have to be a Christmas purchase though. She's tough is Mrs Roller.

put this on last night when wife went to bed about 11 then the next thing i know its 5.30 , jesus have not done that for a long time with a single player game .

its hard to tell people who have not played a mario game before what its like ( i tried yesterday with chas but as usual i sounded like a dumbass) you have to look past the kiddy graphics and take it for pure game play, it so clever Shigeru Miyamoto the man who designed mario is a pure fucking genius and if the 360 had games like this then they would beat sony hands down .

my son traded in his Viva Pinata for only £5, Boo! but we also had a 10% discount card, so got it Mario Galaxy for £22.50. just been watching him play it and my eyes are twisted with all thats going on! looks really nice and my sons enjoying it, very good use of the controller, spinning it, holding it upright, button bashing, and the nunchuks are used. very imaginative, those Japs are bloody mental if you ask me. i can see some arguments between me, the wife, and my son about the hours he puts into this game, and getting him off it. i might even have a go myself, now where are the guns...?

I ordered Mario Galaxy from Game online yesterday at 7.30am there site said it would that depatched for delivery on launch and later in day changed to available for immediate despatch yet only at 5.30pm did it changed to packing and never got sent until today at 10.30am ....so i sent a non too happy email about it

At least ive got collection of other good games too keep me entertained until it does arrive

my game of the year straight away , spent about 5hrs straight playing today .
and for once it lives up to all the hype it looks stunning for a wii game its mario at its best.
would love to give a more detailed reveiw but my use of words is more liking to an asbo teenager so ill just say if you own a wii this is a must have by a mile.
