First of all - apologies for not being around, but I aint even loaded an xbox game for a month - just not had time to do any gaming, hence no time for sorting out the tables etc.

My last update was round 5, and round 6 was organised by the guys taking part in the tourney - so I have lifted the results from my friends leaderboards and will upload the results and overall standings momentarily (need to get my ftp software onto my new laptop 1st)

Hopefully things won't get so far behind again, it will be less hassle for me to update the scores etc now that I have the laptop as previously it was a bit of a faff about cos my desktop is in a different room from the 360. So now that it wont take long to get things updated even when I am busy I should be able to keep up-to-date

Again apologies for the hassle, but at least this is a tourney that can easily conitnue where we left off

ps. Round 7 was originally supposed to be a class D car - but this is mainly my fault cos I aint been around to help sort track choice etc - so we'll just do a class D next round instead

The Sweet F.A. Cup

gentlemen(and you Chas/Fezza) i give you(drum roll please)the Sweet F.A. Cup, so called because you win sweet f.a.!

it will be a straight knockout cup, names to be picked by draw, on Wednesday 7th March, randomly in a game lobby for fairness. ties to be played home and away to eliminate lag issues. scores will be on aggregate, away goals count double if its a draw, so if the tie is all square after the home and away leg its extra time and penalties!

teams are to be chosen RANDOMLY by pressing the "x" button, i think, BOTH players must choose this team. the host can choose either league or international.

sign up here for inclusion in the first round draw. games can be played anytime starting Saturday 10th March, each round will last ONE week, so the second round will begin Saturday 17th March. if you can't make a tie you will be eliminated and your opponent gets a bye. this way there will be no hanging about waiting for games to be completed. only put your name in the hat if you are available over the next few weeks to be fair to others who can play.

2 Vs. 2 - Best of Three Warzone (first to 6 rounds).
Host picks the map. One host per team, which changes after every match.

Each team alternates between COG and Locust (no real point, just makes it a bit fair for all concerned).

Points.
Game score of players combined,
+ 25 points for winning a round,
+ 50 points for winning the game.
+ 15 points due to weapons.

Weapons. Choosen by the current host:
A) No sniper, no hammer, instead these can be replaced with shotguns, rifles or smoke grenades or pistols.
Boomshot and Torque Bow are fine. +15 points to winning team.

B) Sniper and hammer are allowed, but only one per team. No added points to winning team.

Well done to Reeves last round who has the honours. Deadline has been slashed to one week so don't say you weren't warned.

One other point (I aint checked if this applies to the corvette), but if you do manage to win a round and get to choose a car - please stick to cars that aren't premium content, as it would be a pity for people to miss out rounds solely cos they don't wanna be spending cash on content for a game that is played a lot less these days

Dunno what this one is like yet - didn't get much of a crack at the last one, and since I am away at a LAN from Fri-Sun I better remember to get a time in !

Right lads - thats the new challenge circuit - remember to use the car stipulated. If possible try to avoid using any other cars within that class on this lap to keep the scoreboards clear

I've changed the dealines to a Monday nigt cos Sundays can end up a bit hectic my end. I know for those that are on gaming a lot 2 weeks may seem a long time to wait per challenge - but it allows people that aint on as much plenty time to get a decent lap time in.

Hopefully it'll be as competitive as the last one

Just a little bit of background - on PGR2 they used to set a specific challenge for each track with a pre-determined car. This doesn't appear to have made it to PGR3, and as a result the easiest thing is to have the choice of any car you want. Problems will arise if we select specific cars and someone has already done a race against clock in a faster car already (as we'll need to use the leaderboards to determine winners etc.)

Unfortunately that means less variation than previously, and I assume a lot of F50 driving, but unless no-one has attempted any 'race against the clocks' its the safest way to ensure we get everyone times equally.

Now - what do you have to do to take part?

Simple - load up PGR3 go to 'Race Against Clock' and select the City and Route specified - have as many attempts at the fastest lap as you want up until the deadline - and most importantly post your gamertag here so I can add you as a friend so that I can see you on my friends leaderboard fr scoring purposes

I'll then collate the times - post them up and the fastest gets to choose the next city/route. I think we could run it on a 10-round system with points being awarded formula 1 style: 10 pts for 1st, 8 pts for 2nd, then 6 thru to 1 for the next 6

So go out there, take the dust covers of yer PGR3 and lets hit the leaderboards high up (or not as the case may be )

PGR3 Challenge - Participation List

Lo all,

The PGR3 challenge is open to anyone - its gonna run over 10 rounds - but you can join in at any stage (although you'll be disadvantaged for the overall title if you join later).

For it to work well - its best if everyone has a 'friends' list of gamertags for those taking part so you can see exactly how you are doing by looking at the 'friends' version of the leaderboard for whatever track we are doing. So thats the basic idea of this thread.

A lot of you will have these guys on your list already - but I'll update it when new guys join (eg. bobtap just joined site), and it'll be handy for any new guys coming in to quickly add all participants so they can get up to speed quickly

So far we have 14 active participants - if you have been taking part but are not on this list it means I don't have you on my friends list so please drop me your gamertag and I'll update

PGR3 Challenge?

Anyone up for a PGR3 challenge ?

This is a ressurection of previous tourneys that used to be done on myxbox on PGR2.

Basically - a map is chosen for time trial with a specific car, and the everyone that wants a go tries to do the best time - have a specific deadline (maybe 1 or 2 weeks to give everyone a chance at trying the map) so you can have as many attempts as you want up until the deadline, and at the end of the time check out 'friends rankings' to see who has won. I will post the results on the forums.

We can either do it event-by-event winner, or do a rolling league total with points for the fastest 8 in a formula 1 type scoring system.

Previously the winner of the challenge had the honour of selecting the next course to race on. I don't mind organising it as long as there is enough interest.

Let me know if yer up for it.
