No I was saying I improved my time by trying to be smoother than my previous attempts. Your time took me plenty of attempts to try and beat. Nice one fezza.

Anyone know the final outcome of the time trials, and wether there is going to be another Time trial in the near future?.

just done another new personal best of 1:09.8 i think it was, with a new controller as i busted the old one getting frustrated lol

Ill give it another bash tonight, because it sounds like ive gone from third to last on the table lol

Its the first corner that does it for me, I can fly round it, but the ghosts fly past me and it goes from there. The rest of the course is pretty easy, theres some corners that benefit from tapping the handbrake for a second while keeping the revs up.

Will give it another whirl tonight and see just how bad im doing at the moment

Nice time Rob I am averaging in the 1:09s when I don't bin it totally on the barriers but those 1:07 times are out of my league - I've been ahead of their ghosts a few times but the entire lap isn't as good - I am faster coming out of the final corner and into the first corner - my big problem area is the left after the chicane sequence which I can't take without lifting.

Hi lads,

Great Idea MG for the Time Trials. Its Probably the only thing I'll get time to participate in for the time being.

The Course is deceptively hard to make time up, Also I found it quite difficult to string together a clean lap. I was stuck at 100th of a second behind Fezza's time for ages. I found I could go faster by braking slightly earlier and taking the bends in a more controlled fashion.

Anyways I've managed 1:07.37 Auto Gears (Pad). I've also uploaded my ghost to Live

cant remember what my time is, think its 1:10 something...

Its all about the first corner and the chicanes for me, the rest of the track I can get a pretty fast line on.

Im sans laptop at home at the moment as the power cable broke, so im waiting for delivery of a new one which should hopefully be tomorrow or wednesday.

As for manual/auto gears weel/pad - I dont care. Just let us know which youre using. Im not making a proper tourney out if this, just a little bit of competetive fun.
Like I say though, just give us the heads up on what you use to put your times down.

im always using pad on auto.

personaly i can't use the pad on PGR, i have to constantly correct the car, it won't hold a straight line at all, it's not just this car or track it's all of them. don't know if this is just me, but as SK said i prefer to use the wheel for realism. got to admit tho' i had to wipe about an inch of dust off it, havn't played with it(cue smutty inuendo) since COD4 came out...

edit:1:09:37...i can beat Fezza's ghost pretty much every time into that first left hander and up the hill past the monument, then can't get around those fist set of chicanes without clattering the side, i'm just chasing his ghost then. thats the key part of the track for me, just need to crack that part and his flabby ass is mine...

The game will be written for controllers in mind and the wheel being an afterthought - as you say, not everyone has a wheel.

The wheel responds better on this than previous PGR games having said the above but I still believe ultimately you're going to be quicker with a controller.

I enjoy using the wheel however and can get reasonably quick times with it which is enough for me - I won't be troubling the top of the timesheets once everyone gets into the groove.

really its up to mg as he started it , but i dont think the wheel is an advandage i was racing sk ghost last night and was in front for the first half of the lap but their are 2 hard right corners that i just cant get right .

You have a good point though mate although if the manual gears are faster and the wheel is slower generally then it'd be a nice compromise to have manual gears allowed for wheel users - trouble is my theory was blown out of the water when I went quicker with auto gears with my wheel .... ;-)

nice one mg just put a time 1.10.-- love the way you can d/l friends ghost time to race agianst great.
oh and lets try and keep the gears to auto because not everyone plays manual and their is a massive diff between man and auto cheers.

my current time is ~~1:13.08~~ 1:12.81
