Just a couple of off the wall ideas :

As new members join the site I see they get a little spot at the bottom of the home page. Is it possible that all new members are highlighted in some way showing Gamertag, Games Played & maybe age? Dont think it asks for this info when you join or if its possible to... ?

oh and can we have more of a choice of skins / colour themes or even upload a pic as a background?

and y not put links to other useful sites such as xbox.com down either side maybe?

Why do they keep getting edited ?

I posted stuff from Major Nelsons blog about the latest downloads avaialable , ...a community site for everybody to source info and came back later and they had been bastardised.

Obviously we cant rip off others sites directly , but it really kinda puts you off trying to contribute to the site. Everybody is scared to post in case it breaks some holy XCN rule. result - nobody posts.

Hi all,

I was thinking about the possibility of a Gadget forum. This Would be where you could disscuss any new purchases of gadgetry. Such as mp3 players & Accessories, headphones, mobile phones, Home Cinema systems etc etc. That way when weve made a good ( Or maybe a bad )purchase of something. We could pass on the valueable knowledge and experience to others looking to buy such things. Saves people scanning threw loads of reviews on the net for certain purchases?. And we could possibly save each other money in the process?.

Just a Idea anyways. What do you all thinking of this suggestion?. Perhaps the forum could be named better?.

In an effort to determine what games would be more succesful during Live sessions, I thought it might be helpful if we all listed the multiplayer games we own. The most common could then be selected if the tournament idea comes to fruition. Maybe someone could keep some kind of league table or tally?

For those of you not about at the time we used to have a fully featured website as well as the old forums, but the feeling was that it made the place too disjointed and a lot of the features that were on the site just weren't being used because community members naturally gravitated towards the forums first. We were always primarily a community of gamers, the website came later but because we already lived on the forums it never really worked.

So the last time we had a makeover, just prior to the 360 launch was to do away with all that and basically run everything through the forums, but have a front end with sections for Xbox 360, Xbox and PC where stuff from the appropriate forums and such things as the calendar would be pulled onto those pages.

Unfortunately for various reasons this part of the development never actually happened, although in recent weeks Reign Mack has been working on the template but it now needs cobbling together, nick72 is a bit busy at the moment so I'm not sure when that will happen, unless we have any other asp.net coders amongst us, I'm not that confident in .net to really undertake doing it myself.

Any thoughts or .net coders lurking out there who are able to help?

Firstly, the responses we have all made on this forum are all very positive and shoul be applauded. It shows that despite issues with getting the community together, people do care and want to make things better .

Enough back slapping though as we still have room for improvement. I think we did this before, but it would be useful to update: What nights are you available on Live?

Here's mine:

Monday - Thursday: Daytime no as I'm working, but usually available evenings from 8.00pm until 11.30pm
Friday - Not usually available
Saturday - Available sometimes during the day, but not usually evenings
Sunday - Available sometimes during the day and sometimes in the evenings

I completely understand where Brats is coming from on this, I know I've had a few discussions with members on the way invites now work. On the original Xbox it was near perfect, so why they then decided to go and completely fek it up I really don't know.

Before when you sent someone an invite you'd get an icon next to their name so you could immediately see who you'd sent invites too.

That icon would stay there until it had been responded to or acted on. So when the icon went you knew at the very least the person had seen and deleted the invite so you knew they probably weren't coming and if they accepted or rejected your invite it would tell you when you highlighted their name.

Not on the 360. There's no way of knowing who you have or haven't sent an invite too. If an invite is accepted you've no way of knowing until they turn up in your game or if they were playing something else and you're sitting there watching your friends list, you see them change game. If they reject it you get nothing, if they ignore it you get nothing, and if they don't respond to it within a certain period of time I believe it just disappears, so basically, you get nothing.

Extremely frustrating when you're sitting in a lobby on yer own wondering if anyones gonna actually turn up.

So a good conduct guide then? As Brats said maybe not rules as such but perhaps something that could be included in the guidelines and something we could encourage maybe by doing it ourselves, that if someone invites you to a game, you take a few seconds to fire a message back to let the person know whether you're going to join them or not.

Any thoughts?

Don't know if it's just me but I can't seem to find a little icon that'll take me to the first unread post in a thread. It's a bit of a pain when I want to continue reading a big thread but can't remember which page/post was the last one I looked at.

Is there one (or going to be) or is it just tough tiddies and live with it?

Firefox Problem

Not sure if it's only me with this problem, but I can't access the site via Firefox.

Well, now I can't access it completely via Firefox, I could periodicly visit it yesterday, but I couldn't post anything, only read.

Every time I posted, and every time I tried to access it via Firefox, all I get is

Bad Request (Invalid Header Name)

I don't get it with any other site (that I've visited). Something I did?

It seems trying to quote people being a bit of a hit and miss affair. I'm sure I've seen quotes appearing properly sometimes but I recently quoted Artamess in the Xbox Live crediting thread in the Xbox Live forum and it did't quite work.

I simply hit the quote button and didn't fiddle in anyway but the text appeared as normal with the square bracketted fields clearly visible.

We cant post anything that has got a line return in it. spent my entire lunch hour trying to figure out why i couldnt post copied and pasted stuff , and finally figured it out. If you hit return in a post and type on a new line it bombs out with an error

To add your gamertag to your signature you have to paste the html code into the html view (see the tabs at the bottom of the signature input textbox).
