On the flipside, as I tested earlier today, if someone with only the retail game hosts, those who have downloaded the content will not be able to join.

We tried this out recently, ok so it was well over a week ago but I forgot, then I've been away mumble mumble... any other excuses I can think of...

Anyway back to the point, if someone who hasn't got the content hosts, then those with the content can join the game, so all is not lost, but it does give us an extra headache. All it needs is a select pack option like in CoD2, but no, they have to make life difficult

havent been on much at all latley but just broke up for 2wks so should be on abit more (weather permitting)

I really don't know. Take a game like PGR3 and that blocks out content that not everyone in the room owns. However, GRAW doesn't seem to want to do this.

We could try an experiment later. What you chaps witht he new content will have to do is make sure your avatar isn't using any of the new downloadable material, and we'll see if you can join.

A patch is included in the downloaded content, part of that allows for bigger rooms without so much lag (so the story goes), but the patch is not available to people without the content downloaded. I would hope that a patch will be released soon to update the systems that don't have the extra content.

As evident from Friday night, the idea of a GRAW tournament might not be possible because of the downloadable content. The situation is that if someone hosts and they have downloaded the new content, someone who hasn't got this content cannot join the room, regardless of what map and weapons the host is using. In an effort to determine what games would be more succesful during Live sessions, I thought it might be helpful if we all listed the multiplayer games we own. The most common could then be selected if the tournament idea comes to fruition. Maybe someone could keep some kind of league table or tally?
