Activision and Infinity Ward announced today that the Variety Map Pack for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be available for download on April 10, a week after it was originally scheduled for release.

I do agree Vegas is a decent game, but in my opinion its not in the same league as Cod4. I'll definately be getting the map pack when it comes out .

Hopefully I'll get time to play the maps when they come out lol

ok, I think I paid £7.95 for 1000 points, got them ready for when the maps are available, I dont mind paying for them also, for me I was so tempted to get R6V2 but having read the reviews Im glad I didn't, I would have only got it cos everyone else did and Im sure that when the new maps on COD4 are out R6V2 wouldn't even got a look in, COD4 will take some beating imo, any expansion/map pack is a must and £7.95 instead of £40 for a game I wont be playing makes sense to me..

who else is getting the maps ?

funny really, people have paid £40 for Vegas 2 which is basicaly an expansion pack rather than a whole new game, so to me 800 points is ok if you enjoy it, bit like crack cocaine really...

I'll be getting the additional content at 800MP. It's one of these games that you can through in the drive and play any time off day. I'll download it on the kids machine, then download it again onto mine so they can use it as well.

i dont mind payin for new maps if theres some only thing botherd me when i paid 800 points for ghost recon map pack and 2 of the maps i allready had but they just made them into night time maps instead of day that anoyed me alot. ive seen the maps for cod4 and they all look ok apart from killhouse

If people will pay 800 pts it makes perfect business sense to generate more revenue whilst the game is still popular - games publishers are not charities and this additional revenue will fund future games and hopefully new IP (or maybe just line shareholder pockets)

so true mg in an ideal world all downloads would be free for me but like i said before the equation is simple if you like the game and you play it often then buy it, and if you dont then dont ,but you are right when that most of these companies ride on the back of success,

Good point Dante, but we were both hooked on Vegas and for 800 points for the red pack there were 4 maps and a whole new mode...the success of which coud be debated, but its there.

800 points for three maps what people will play just smaks of cashing in on the most played game.

i carnt see wot all the moaning is about really myself, either you buy it or you dont ,for me 800 points is high for 4 maps compaired to graw(which i have too) map packs but are you all playing graw everyday ??? where as most people including myself have been playing cod4 everyday since it came out now rainbow is out i havent been on as much but still pine for the game .so 800 points is not alot when, and this is the big factor here you get FUN from the maps and play it most days its cost affective but this is only my view as for halo3 love the game but wont get the maps as not enough time serverd

i refuse to buy halo3 maps also.... only map packs i've ever bought have been R6V & GRAW1&2 ....... all others i get once they're free.

afaik the killhouse map is supposed to be like the training room from the beginning of the game.... so just a small mess-about map...... so for all intents and purposes you get 3 maps for 800 points!!!!

Dunno why I'd thought it was ubisoft who released cod4
Suppose its likely that its not going too be the same map then still bit odd calling a map the same as another companies game.

Yikes 800 points for 4 maps one that i assuming is a vegas map
Forget that ive got plenty spare points on my 360 but i aint paying ott for maps on games i dont play that much now think its vegas 2 time instead now

i read they're gonna be 800 points!!!! ........ bit fckin steep for basically 3 maps.... maybe activision should take a look at ubi for half decent map packs......

As much as i enjoy cod4 i think i'll deffo be giving this a miss......

fabulous! great news! had a look at the videos, like the look of all 4 maps , not sure on killhouse, looks a bit like training warehouse from the vid, should be good for getting up close n personal with a shotgun or a knife, cant wait for these but Im destined to never get any sleep, just 1 more game lol

New COD4 maps

IGN says that there are 3 new maps proper and a small bonus map available from 'early April' and also says to save some money, so unfortunatly they wont be free.

The maps are:

Broadcast - modelled on the Charlie Dont Surf level
Creek - The biggest map to be seen on COD4, geared towards sniping.
Chinatown - modeled after Call of Duty 2's Carentan
Killhouse.
