Edlin now thats a name i thought i would not hear again..
the good old days when you booted your O/S from a floppy disk. When the O/S was stable... was this not pre Bill gates.

Next time you have a problem you could try using a restore point to go back to you're working settings.

May have been a glitch in the settings that eventually overwrote itself when you changed something relating to it (wild guess). What is better is when you run a dos program that crashes and you have to go into your files to remove a line of code so your machine will boot back into windows instead of trying to re-run the dos software and crashing everytime it boots. Anyone remember EDLIN?

I have tried ie 7 twice and rolled back to version six after a day, its total crap. May aswell use firefox instead of the MS knockoff.

Hi all,

Thanks for you're suggestions. I did try out firefox and there wasnt a problem. But I'm used to IE, so I tried uninstalling IE6 and re-installing, and still had the same problem. I then decided to try updating to IE, with updates (including malicous software removal tool). And I still had the same problem.

I then tried logining into xbox.com using the enhanced security login. Which sorta worked, but came up with a "Session has expired window". Then when closing and restarting IE, I found it was working correctly???. Not actually sure what the problem was, but it seems to working fine again now?? .

Only problem now is I've gotta get used to IE7, which on first impressions seems okay.

Could you post what version of windows your using as this will help other help you..

If you find all is OK when testing it with Firefox then I would try uninstalling IE and reinstalling it (control panel - addd/remove programs) Its worth a shot

The point of trying it on a different browser on your PC though is it helps to pin down the cause of the problem. Tw1sted wasn't suggesting you use a different browser and forget about the problem, as he said "Try downloading firefox and seeing if the problem is still there" - If the problem isn't there anymore in Firefox then that would suggest it's a problem with IE, if the problem is still there then it would suggest it's not down to the browser but some other underlying issue.

Well from further investigation, it is a problem with my pc. I can logon to xbox.com on ps3/friends pc's and the site works fine. I've done a In-depth Virus Scan, which came up with nothing. And A spyware scan using Zonealarm Pro, which also came up with nothing.

I dont really want to use another browser, because basically I would be just covering up a under lying problem. Its worked fine before?. Anyone got any other ideas?, or have experienced this problem theresleves?.

Could you maybe try it in a different browser? Try downloading firefox and seeing if the problem is still there...

Shouldn't take long to download. Saying that, it should be firefox that has problems, not Internet Explorer cos thats made by Microsoft! I just checked and under firefox its working fine for me

Internet Explorer Problem

Hi all,

Normally I use Xbox.com to sign in using the pc to see what people in my friends list are playing. And also to see if theres anything new on there. But for the last couple of weeks. Everytime I try and open the web page. Im greeted with the passport login screen instead of the xbox.com main page. If i try and enter my password into the login box and press sign in. the login screen duplicates about 50 times one on top of another.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?. Do you think it could be some kind of virus?. Im getting worried at the moment that it could be some kind of malicous virus. Which is making me extremely warey of loging into anything, just incase someone could be getting hold of my details . Any help would be extremely appreciated.

OS: Windows XP Pro

Anti Virus Software: Nod32

Firewall: ZoneAlarm Pro.
