Connect your xbox with the ethernet cable in to your router or modem. Silver accounts are free. Not sure if you will need to set-up a new account or use your current gamertag but either way the updates are on the box not the tag.

I'm sure that you can still download content with a free silver account. Just hook up your xbox online and set-up a silver account. All you need is a valid email address.

If you give more details on what type of set-up you have, e.g. usb modem or router, then the chaps here can point you in the right direction.

Is there any way I can get the extra content downloads without being on xbox live?

Whilst i am assurred that being on live is a fabulous experience, young family, time and money means that my priorities are else where.

I am running a pc system using basic vista with a cable broadband internet connection.

Any suggestions guy and gals?
