| So which audio leads do you use to connect to your surround sounds? The reason I ask is that I have a surround system and use a digital optical cable (from the little slot on the Xbox component cable) and if your receiver is set to Dolby then depending on what you are doing you might not always get surround sound. With my receiver set to Dolby Digital games/dvds are surround but listening to music only sound is sent out stereo and only comes through the two front speakers of the surround set up.

| If you have a seperate sound system you plug the RCA phono's into that and it all works, but through the TV it can be difficult depending on the TV. You can pick up cheap suround sound systems designed for PC's that you could use dedicated to the 360 like I do, cost me £15 back when I bought it, around £25 now from the right shop.

Have you tried changing the channel, the sound might be coming out of another channel (different circuit?)
