| | thursday 5th june general release, those playing it now(my smug self included)pre ordered it with Play.com. in the words of MG "its a million times better than COD4", so it must be good, and he hasn't even played it yet. from what i can remember there are no whips in it, but i'm sure a patch is coming...

| | Have been playing the Beta for this for a while now, have always hated the console versions of Battle Field because they have been completly shit compared to the pc versions but I think this one has been a step in the right direction. I'd never compare this game to the likes of graw, rb6 or call of crap, the maps on battle field and f@cking huge it feels a lot more like you are taking part in a war the other have never managed to achieve that. I still play the first ghost recon every now and then (and I know somebody else on this forum those two cant rememebr who though) but his has nothing to do with sell by dates the later versions are all inferior...

Yes, I had SvR, it was a change, something different and its been traded in. *shrugs*
Id rather play something different every now and again rather than just shooters (although it is my fave genre).
And Flan, I qualified the sentance with 'if' IF its BF2 with destructable environements, its a million times better than COD4.
Anyway, if you want to continue playing COD4 - good for you, must have gone and done the same earn everything, give it up for a small picture next to your name, re-earn everything give it up cycle about 10 times now? Nothing says fun than repetition. Or is that brain washing....who knows.
At least youre getting your money out of it, i had a good six or 7 months (excluding the beta) out of it before I got bored of it and went on to something else.
But I guess thats just my throw away MTV mentality....unlike what has happened with that main stay of gaming, GTA4
And is it confirmed that ranking up on the demo will carry over to main game? As that was being banged about about COD4 and turned out not to be true, which I was pleased with as those who did manage to get onto the beta had a huge advantage over everyone else...

Whatever was mentioned in the previous post, just remember...it isnt as good as COD4 is it.

| Much as I rely on the informed and eloquent opinions of the members on the forum, has anyone seen any reviews of this game written by professional game critics? All seems very quiet which is usually worrying.

| | what SJ? you mean you don't trust my esteemed colleagues review of a demo he hasn't played? shame on you! yes, it is confirmed that any rankings/unlocks gained on the demo will be carried over to the full game, it says so in the demo. the demo is on general release on the marketplace tomorrow the 5th. and yes MG, it does have destructable environments, as i said so in my mini review, so therefore, by your prophetic musings, it IS one million times better than COD4...

| I knew that the buildings and cars can all be destroyed in real time, rather than specific destructive patterns, and with the trees, but if the ground can be too, then that could be interesting when someone tries to run over you in a jeep  Not sure the ranking up in demo through to full game is entirely wise, but we will see. And odd you should use the word "prophetic" to describe something me...I mean, with the hair and beard I could almost be Jesus' better looking, 2000 year younger brother.
