| Medieval mayhem abounds in this battle-intense Xbox LIVE Arcade new arrival from the guys that gave us Alien Hominid HD. 1200 MS points is the entrance fee for The Behemonth’s Castle Crashers from today; a four-player cooperative crusade to reclaim a King’s stolen treasure, and a great reason to go bash some buttons!
You must survive 20 levels of tricky brawls in Castle Crashers. The King’s hopes rest with a motley crew of 20 knights, each boasting zany skills that improve with experience. As they become stronger and increase expertise they can choose from more spectacular weapons. Ah, but it doesn’t stop there! Every character can call upon Animal Orb Helpers to modify their abilities.
Initially you’ve only the stalwart Red, Blue, Green and Orange knights volunteering their services. This allows you to enlist the help of three friends to venture forth as a team sharing the same Xbox 360 or across Xbox LIVE. You’ll have a blast figuring out tactics that maximise Red’s lightning attacks, Blue’s ice magic, Green’s poison moves and Orange’s fire skills. Soon you’ll encounter new allies, such as the Ninja whose shuriken can strike at speed from afar, and the Brute who can summon thorn bushes to entangle foes. Coolest of all – Alien Hominid is in here too, automatically unlocked for everyone who downloaded the full version of Alien Hominid HD.
Before signing off we’d like to introduce a handful of the Animal Orb helpers, sure to raise a smile while upping your game: Bitey Bat likes to chew on heads; the Troll will slowly regenerate health; Monkeyface increases your fortune, and finally the Chicken (The Behemoth company mascot) improves strength and agility.
Castle Crashers is the most fun you can have without time-travelling to the middle ages and realising it was all a cartoon.
